S & Me

But if you are wondering what we are like, the wait is over

 About "S"

S is a curious creature. We met at very changing times in our lives. S was making the move towards going to college for a political science degree, and was coming to terms with the fact that he wanted to take a very different path in life than the one before. As a person he is smart, funny and a little strange every once in a while. While quiet at first, there's no question that S has a big heart and is extremely loyal and sweet to those he cares about. He has a razor sharp wit, likes dry and dark humor, and has a deeply invested love of music, especially old school hip hop and current hip hop trends. He isn't afraid to speak up or speak out, and that's exactly what I love about him. He's deeply opinionated, at times very sarcastic, but is dependable and cares about being a good person. He is a bit of a perfectionist at times, but that's only because he really likes to work hard on things he cares about.

He also grew up on the West Coast like myself, and has a very funny and outgoing family. I personally think he gets his love of music, and his love of critiquing music from his dad, who has been in the radio and music bizz for a while now. His mom also has great taste in music  and is a pretty awesome lady all on her own. I really adore his family, and they get on pretty well with mine, which I hope keeps going on through the wedding planning process!

About "S" and Me

S and I met 2 years ago this year. Its a little insane how quickly we fell in love with each other, but to anyone who knows us, I'm sure we seem like we fit pretty well together. When I look back on it, I think about how much we were so alike from the beginning, and how the first couple of months of us being together flew by. I think what makes our relationship work is our ability to put our more stubborn natures aside and realize we want whats best for the other person, and the well-being of our relationship. I guess I could say, for people who are as independent and opinionated as we are, we really give easily to one another, and try to let a lot of selflessness in when needed. I think that will help us a lot in the future in our marriage, and hopefully we will hang on to that when the insanity of wedding planning hits us.
We officially became engaged on 7/9/11 and you can read the proposal story here
